No One Always Or Never Does Anything

Last night was a big deal around here.

In our married life we've often done things we swore we'd never do. Owned a minivan, dressed our kids in cartoon character clothes, gone to bed angry, and other things along those same lines.

We also said we would never, ever take our kids back to Chuck-E-Cheese. We took Emma once when she was like 2, and it was a miserable experience.

But last night we wanted to do something special for Maggie, to celebrate her graduating from Speech. She sees the CEC commercials, and begs us to take her. We always refuse. So Sugar Daddy gets this idea that we surprise her with a trip to CEC to celebrate.

    We did it.

We went to Chuck-E-Cheese with all 3 kids.

It wasn't as bad as I remembered. We arrived just before 5, and it was practically empty. By the time we left at 7, it was getting packed, and more and more obnoxious. I think the timing was perfect, because I couldn't have lasted much longer in the chaos.

We came home with 3 toys purchased with our 400 tickets, and 3 very happy exhausted kids.

But I swear, I'll never do that again.

Yeah...I feel your pain. I am scared when Noah wants to go there cause I DONT. The sacrifices of a parent.

I'm with you on the CEC. It always smells.

I hate CEC too....but we all know that we (and you) will somehow end up there again.

I love the beginning, how you started with a list of things we will never do. How that list could go on and on.

I'm with you on the swearing thing & Chuck E. Cheese. Only under extreme conditions will we go there. My mom actually invited us all to go this week to celebrate the beginning of summer. I'm still thinking up an excuse to ditch. Lmk if you have any good ideas. ;)

You're a brave soul!! I can't handle CEC but I know it's like the ultimate reward. I blame the commercials - it's never as cool as they make it look yet somehow they make kids think it's better than Disneyland.

Oh... I HATE Chuck E Cheese. The food is nasty, and I am sure that every single surface in that place is crawling with germs. AND my kids always end up fighting over tickets.

Gotta love germaville! Score on the 400 tickets, those 3 toys probably only cost you like 60 bucks, right? such a deal! :o)

If we all hate Chuck-E-Cheese then why is it still in business? We went last year for Gabe's birthday. The food was horrible, the bathrooms were stinky and the prizes are ridiculous for the amount of money you spend. At least your kids had fun but are you planning on taking them again anytime soon?

Belch! I totally get ya about CEC. And if we do go, we NEVER go after 4:00 and NEVER on a Friday. You are a good sport.
