    Germy Fungus

While I shopped and shopped yesterday, I had my kid in the cart. She was sitting so quietly while I perused the wall of ribbons, looking for that one perfect design. I took my sweet time. Upon turning around, I see her sucking on the handle of the shopping cart. Sucking on it. Like a newborn sucks on a binky.

I don't consider myself a germ freak by any means, but I do know the facts. Like, the fact that most people don't wash their hands properly, if at all (BLECH!) after using the bathroom. And then those filthy hands find their way, along with their hitch hiking germs, onto various surfaces. Like door knobs, and telephones, and yes, even grocery cart handlebars.

And now my kid has sucked it clean.

Needless to say, she woke up with a wicked cough. I hope that's all it is. I'm worried about seeing a rash, or sores, or worse! Especially since I know of 2 people whose babies have come down with MRSA.

Let's hope she recovers quickly, and that I won't become that mom who sanitizes everything and won't let her kids touch other kids toys and such. Yeah, like that would happen.

That just gave me shivers. Yuck. I always thought those people that haul those fabric shopping cart covers were freaks, but now I may change my mind....Of course I usually would rather gouge my eyeball out with a rusty spoon than take my kids to the store, but every once in a while I have an emergency and must take them...

That totally grosses me out...just like when they drop their string cheese or cracker in the cart then pick it up and keep eating it. So nasty! Something about public germs isn't right.

Eww! Hopefully she has a strong-er immune system and a cough is all she gets.

I hate drinking fountains for the same reasons. Every kids puts their mouth on the water piece. My kids are always bummed when I tell them I'll get them a drink else where. I don't want them sucking someone's elses germs either.

I used to hate when my kids did that kinda thing. So disgusting! Mikaela chewed on a cigarette butt once. I almost vomitted at the thought! But...it is true that they need some of the germs to build up their immune systems. My kids rarely get sick now! Being gross pays off! My sister-in-law's mother was a "clean freak" and she gets sick ALL the time. I guess being a slob pays off too! Yay!

Hope her puppy made her feel better!
