    Deep thoughts

This is probably a first for me. Or maybe a second, but either way, it's unusual for me.

I'm about to go deep. Yes, people, I've been thinking. Scary.

In hearing of the Malibu fires that have affected Bonny and her crew, and especially after hearing Esme say she took a box of "things money can't buy", I started wondering about what I would take if I had to leave my home so quickly.

    And honestly, I'm not sure.

I know I would grab my fireproof safe with all the important documents, birth certificates, passports (which there will be another post about shortly), car titles, and insurance info. I would grab my scrapbooks. I would grab the Wedding Egg from Nunn Bee, and the quilts from my mom. After those things, I'm not really sure what else I would take. What else would be irreplaceable? So many things are merely material. It kind of makes me sad that so much of my life is replaceable. I guess I should take more time and effort to make things special. What is irreplaceable to you? What are your "things money can't buy"?

I would take Gus and Paul and our wedding album and as many pictures and albums I could cram in my car. Of course all of the important paperwork which is all in one place (we need a safe, you are smart). I'd try to grab the hutch my dad made us for our wedding, that means a lot to me.

I guess if you make it out with the people you love, that's what counts the most. But it's always nice the save the pictures!!!

Who are you kidding? With Sean as your husband and the way the two of you "de-junk" you guys could probably find "irreplaceables" in a nicely organized tote. I would only be able to get my kids because it would take me too long to look for the important stuff. I would definately grab the Million dollars I have stashed under my matress. Ha Ha

Ah, yes, the million dollars! How could I have forgotten about that. I would also grab my Great Grandma Olies's embroidered pillowcases. Tres importante. The dog, the husband, yeah, they would come too. And if we could, the dining table. It's freakin heavy, but after 2 years of watching it take up my garage, it would be worth it.

I have been thinking a lot about that as well, and honestly, I don't know what I would take. I would take Mom and Dad, because you know I would have to DRAG dad away. I would want to be as far as possible when that house caught fire for fear of the explosion that would happen!

That's quite a sight if you take your table...although it is so nice!

I have all of my pictures backed up on CD's. One in my safe and one at my moms. I don't want my kids to grow up without pictures thinking, what did I look like as a baby? I figure I can replace scrapbooks but the pics are the most important to me. (Besides family of course). I asked this to Jake once about a month ago. He said he would grab his hard drive.

I would get a large U-Haul and put everything I own into it and drive to safer ground. Just kidding. Aside from family all I would really try to grab would be the important documents and picutres. Other things are important to me, but I guess I'm not dependant upon them. A house is just a house, its your family that makes it a home. Wow, that was so Hallmark. Amy has it too...the hard drive would be important to take along.
