Mamma, Mia
My mom, she was the bomb. I still hate saying "was", by the way. But she really was. I guess a couple of weeks ago, a family friend, Perry Montoya (doesn't that totally make you want to say "my name is Perry Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die"?) That was a lot of punctuation right there at the end, wasn't it? I hope it was correct. Anyway, he called and said for Bingham High School's 100th anniversary, they wanted to put up a display of my mom's old Minerette clothes. Minerettes are the drill team for those of you uninitiated in the BHS-speak. She was Minerette president her senior year. She was very proud of that.
So the display is up, in all it's glory, in the Alumni room. If you're in the vicinity, swing on by and take a looky look. Also, be sure and check out Troy's mullet in the class of '89 SBO picture. He's a total ladies man, right Larissa? I think Jill has a pretty good legacy there as a cheerleader and a songleader, although I'm still not positive as to what the difference was. I, on the other hand, left a legacy of, well, zilch. Not a fan of the high school days. I was a gymnast and a diver, but then I figured out that a cool car and big boobs made life much easier than being athletic. Totally missed the whole "prepare for your future now" lesson in Humanities. Oops. Then there's Meg, the traitor. The first of the Brown family legacy not to graduate from BHS. But she paved her own road, and for all the right reasons. She still does that same thing today when it comes to life, so good for her. We love her anyway. So there you have it. Just because I know you were dying to know my family and our High School legacies. You're welcome.

I think that's awesome. Your mom would love it, the fact that she kept the uniform all those years says so!
Every time I go back to my high school I go and look at the athletic awards and records board. I love that my name is in there several times, it plays to my vanity and personal opinion of my own awesomeness.
Do not, I repeat, do not, dis the mullet. It'll come back, and then we'll see who's laughing. Hehehe, oh yes, then we will see...(Retreats back into the Firebird on the lawn with a 'fith-a-gin')
I think that is so cool that they displayed your mom's stuff. I plan to run over there tomorrow to check it all out. And the whole Perry Montoya thing, we totally said that every time his name came up. It was mostly me and my family, but sometimes friends too. Great minds, I tell ya.
I totally would have thought you were a fan of high school. I'm sure your legacy is something. You just don't know it yet. Remember I discovered my legacy at BHS a few years ago when a girl from high school only remembered that I was supposed to be Troy's date the night her dad was in an accident with Troy. That's my legacy. She doesn't remember anything else about me. Are you kidding me? I did stuff!
I want a cool car and big boobs. That's a way better legacy. And, I prepared for my future like nobody's business and...look where that got me!
Oh, and I think Troy should start now and grow out the awesome mullet for our upcoming 20 year reunion! I'm sure Kelly would love it!!!
That's all! Do you think this comment was long enough? Geez!
I was at BHS yesturday and didn't get to see your mom's uniform but I did check out the SBO's pics--Troy may have had a mullet but you should see the eyeliner I had on--ouch! Did I really think that made me look better? So I guess my legacy will be the SBO with the black eyes. I'd rather have a cool car and big boobs too. BTW can you send me your address?

I wasn't able to go to the Celebration last night, but if I have a chance, I want to stop and check out the alumni stuff. I'll look for your mom's stuff! Did you know you can buy a brick and have your name put on it. Then they are paving some celebration thingy in the front of the school with them. I haven't decided if I'm going to pay the $100 to do it yet.
Everytime we go to the school for any reason we check out Troys mullet. The kids don't even recognize him.
i saw the uniform over at K & T's the other night. Very modest.
Everyone in high school remembers that I developed overnight. And never let me forget it...
Yay for your mom. And I think it's great she kept her uniform all these years.
And Perry is WAY easier to say than Indigo, or whatever it was. And now when I see Princess Bride, I'll think of Perry Montoya.
